CPA Services
for Psychologists
We specialize in the accounting, tax, and financial management of private and group psychology practices.
As a PsyD or PhD you’re at the very top of your profession.
You’re capable of earning more because of your licenses and degrees, and you also have unique expenses and write-offs that don’t pertain to other therapy practices.
You know that a generalist CPA probably won’t be able to guide you appropriately.
And you know that a once-per-year conversation with your CPA isn’t cutting it.
Do you have a nagging feeling you’re paying too much tax?
Does your inner monologue sound like this:
- “I'm not totally sure what counts as a write-off and what doesn't.”
- “I've heard that S-Corp is probably a better option for me but I'm having a very hard time getting advice from my current CPA.”
- “My current method of paying estimated taxes has got to change.”
- “Basically the last thing I want to spend time and brainpower on is anything related to QuickBooks.”
- “Why didn't they teach us how to run a practice in grad school???”
The problem is NOT with you, it’s NOT with your lack of business knowledge, and it’s NOT that you’re “not a numbers person.”
The problem is you don’t have someone doing all these financial things for you.
And the solution to this problem is simple: partner with a CPA firm that has expertise in helping private and group mental health practices.

Your books are being handled by someone who does this sort of thing every day, and you basically don’t even lift a finger.
Your CPA not only calculates your estimated tax payments for you, but they also log-in and pay them for you too.
What if you had total confidence that all your deductions were being taken?
What if you had a 401k, SEP IRA or whatever retirement plan was the best fit for your current practice?
What if you reduced your anxieties around finances and didn’t carry financial stress into your sessions and personal life?
The way to get from where you are to where you want to be is simple:
Hire a specialized CPA firm to take it off your plate.

Why Angelo & Associates?
We are a boutique CPA firm designed specifically to help private and group mental health practices. We’ve been in business for more than 40 years — with a deep specialization in solo practitioners, small group practices, and offices that employ psychologists, LCSWs, and therapists of all types.
Our philosophy is a little different than most CPA firms. We know that practice owners aren’t afraid to learn new skills and wear different hats — as long as those hats don’t involve QuickBooks or anything to do with taxes. Other CPA firms attempt to train their small business clients to do financial tasks; we simply do it for them instead.
We’re a small team. You’ll know our names and we’ll know yours. You won’t have to re-explain your practice every time you have a question, and you won’t get passed around.
We don’t talk in circles. And we don’t believe that asking for financial advice should ever make you feel inferior.
Established Practice
If your practice brings in $120,000 or more in revenue per year, there’s a very good chance we can save you time, brainpower, and money in taxes.
The way we help practice owners is this:
We don’t try to train them to be a bookkeeper or a tax person. We just do it for them.

If you’re still in the early phases of building your practice — or maybe you haven’t even started yet — we’d love to talk with you too.
Getting good advice at the beginning is so much easier than untangling mistakes down the road.
We talk to therapists every day and would be more than happy to talk with you and hopefully add some value while you’re at the crucial beginning phases.
